The company was created by Odessa Phillip in 2012 when she realized that too often, design and construction projects – especially those that have a profound impact on people and communities – were not understood by the very same people and communities they would affect. As an engineer and planner, she sought to change that dynamic, especially on projects that affect underserved and under-resourced communities. Under her guidance, Assedo builds transparency and trust, leading to successfully completed projects which value and include community insights.
