Did you know National GIS Day is celebrated in November? Generally, on November 18. We of course, couldn't let the month end without recognizing the great contribution our GIS team makes to Assedo Consulting. GIS is a scientific framework for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data to help us make better decisions. This provides us with a better picture of our audience and helps us form more efficient outreach and engagement strategies.
For example, we created the above map for BCRP 21st Century Parks project. We worked with Baltimore City Recreation & Parks to catalog current assets within the city and helped develop recommendations for protecting and expanding the department’s spaces and resources. By using GIS on this project, we were able to see where opportunities could be made to better serve communities across the city of Baltimore. Some of the maps we created include BCRP Trail Network and Walkability Index.
