OLIVIA BLACKWELL
Position: Planner I/GIS Specialist
Responsibilities: I am responsible for creating meeting presentations, mailers, and other outreach materials that help the project team communicate with the community. I also use GIS software to construct mailing lists, site maps, and other types of important visuals. I do work in the field, as well, including stakeholder meeting facilitation and construction site visits.
Why Assedo? I chose Assedo because it is an inclusive space to work that is very welcoming of different ideas and backgrounds. Assedo is important because of its commitment to quality and innovation in its mission to empower local communities.
Background: I am a recent University of Maryland grad from Prince George’s County, Maryland. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy, with a concentration in Culture and the Environment. I am interested in community-based work, and spent my last semester assisting the Chesapeake Bay Foundation on an environmental justice project based in Maryland and D.C. I have an education in a wide range of subjects including horticulture, environmental economics, archaeology, anthropology, and more.
