Odessa Phillip Appointed to Maryland Environmental Service Board of Directors
Laurel, MD — April 1, 2025— Assedo Consulting is pleased to announce the appointment of President & CEO Odessa Phillip to The Maryland Environmental Service (MES) Board of Directors. As a seasoned professional in environmental policy and project management, Phillip brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight to the Board.
Her appointment further strengthens the team as MES continues its critical mission of protecting and enhancing Maryland's environment. Phillip’s diverse expertise aligns with the MES mission, and her appointment to the Board reinforces the agency’s ongoing commitment to achieving long-term environmental sustainability for Maryland’s future.

Phillip’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the MES Board, which has also recently elected its first female chairperson, Ms. Shelley L. Heller. As a recognized leader in local government and environmental management, Ms. Heller’s election marks a historic milestone for the organization and underscores the MES commitment to inclusivity and diversity within its leadership.
MES is a not-for-profit business unit of the State of Maryland and a leader in the environmental management sector. MES plans, constructs, and operates projects within four operating groups in areas such as environmental dredging and restoration, solid waste management, water and wastewater services, stormwater management, environmental monitoring, geospatial and engineering services, and renewable energy. The MES Board of Directors meets regularly to offer direction to the agency across areas such as finance and procurement, human resources, project management, and administration.
