Malik Jordan

Malik Jordan is a Planning and Outreach Project Manager for Assedo Consulting. Malik has over 12 years of experience in community engagement with large scale community development projects. Malik believes growing up in Baltimore City fueled his passion for planning and community engagement. In 2008, Malik commissioned and wrote the Neighborhood University Initiative (NUI), in collaboration with Coppin State University and the neighborhood associations located in his West Baltimore neighborhood — Greater Rosemount and Mondawmin. The NUI later served as a catalyst for the development of 120 units of affordable housing and workforce development in the area.

Malik’s planning and community experience is diverse.  In his career he has worked as a consultant with the Annie E. Casey Foundation Neighborhood Transportation Portfolio, as a Project Manager for the Woda Group, and as an Assistant Director of Community Development for Urban Strategies. As Director of Community Development, Malik cultivated partnerships and supportive service programs with community-based organizations in New Orleans, Miami, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Camden, New Jersey.

More recently, he worked with Loyola University and engaged the York Road Partnership (YRP) with their Collective Impact Strategy. Malik is currently the President of the Historic Jonestown Inc. Association in Southeast Baltimore.
