Joy Hamilton
Joy Hamilton has a real passion for public relations and it shows. Over 25 years, Ms. Hamilton has built a robust portfolio of successful public involvement campaigns across a spectrum of industries.
Over the past ten years, Ms. Hamilton has focused on strategic community engagement on two high-profile transportation projects in the State of Maryland. Most recently, as Construction Outreach Manager for the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT)/ Maryland Transit Administration’s (MTA) Purple Line light rail project, she led a team of community liaisons and established a comprehensive community engagement process for Purple Line.
As a public outreach manager for Maryland’s Intercounty Connector (MD200/ICC)-Contract B, she led community outreach for the design-build team. Ms. Hamilton received two awards for excellence and outstanding contributions to contractor and State of Maryland partnering efforts (2009 & 2010).
She has also launched successful communications initiatives for the American Red Cross, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) and Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC).
Fun Fact: Born and raised in Wilmington, DE now residing in Bowie, Maryland with my husband and two young sons. I am most content planting flowers or playing Sim games. I love the beach and I love Las Vegas!
